Nelda and I are psyched to feature Rich Cole at Jazz at the Tasting Room.  Rich is a monster tenor sax player inspired by the intense traditions of jazz masters John Coltrane, Joe Henderson, and others.  A nationally acclaimed talent, he's worked with jazz greats including Randy Brecker, Dave Holland, Adam Nussbaum, Julian Priester and John Fedchock, and has toured and performed with New Orleans icon Dr. John, fusion star Dan Siegel, and R&B legends Gladys Knight, The Temptations, The Spinners and The Four Tops.

The Pony Boy All-Star Big Band is a conglomeration of the best professional musicians in the Seattle area. Led by drummer and arranger Greg Williamson, this collection of musicians is truly All-Star. The 17 members have played with The Glenn Miller Orchestra, Woody Herman’s Thundering Herd, Harry James Orchestra, Count Basie, Natalie Cole, Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Diana Krall, Steve Allen, Ernestine Anderson... backing up Don Rickles and Joan Rivers. From New York to LA to around the world, the list goes on and on. They have pulled together an amazing library of arrangements dating back to the original swing hits of the 40’s - all the way up to todays large jazz ensemble orchestrations.
