A $45 service charge will be added to all returned checks and must be remedied with a cash payment.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Excused Absences are determined by Mr. Cole and are generally allowed for the following scenarios:

•      Mr. Cole’s absence

o     Note: I am a performing musician. Performances and rehearsals will require my absence occasionally.

•      Emergencies (illness, family crises, etc.),

•      Other scenarios reviewed by Mr. Cole.

In the case of an excused absence, the student may come for a make-up lesson if a different time is available, or they may request a credit toward the next month’s fee.

Unexcused Absences will not be credited or made-up.
Examples of Unexcused Absences are:

•      Student absence due to feeling unprepared, forgetting, etc.,

•      School events, vacations, social events, etc. that are not previously reviewed and scheduled.

•      Accidentally leaving the instrument at school/home or the instrument in the shop for repair.

o     If this happens, please plan to attend the lesson. I will always be able to teach the student, even without the instrument. Sometimes it can be arranged for the student to use a loaner instrument for the lesson. It helps to ask in advance, if possible.

Cessation of Lessons by the student or guardian normally require one month notice.

HOLIDAYS, SCHOOL VACATIONS AND SNOW DAYS

If a lesson falls on a day when there is no school, e.g., parent-teacher conferences, school holidays, vacations, weather delays, cancellations, etc., please check to confirm whether the student will have a lesson that day.

** Always assume that a lesson is scheduled unless you receive a phone call, text or email notice from Mr. Cole. **

Note: Mr. Cole will take two weeks off in December and two weeks off in the summer.

PARENTS AND GUARDIANS

Parents and guardians are welcome to attend lessons.

The Right to Dismiss Any Student(s) is reserved for the following reasons:

1.    Payment problems, including late payments, returned checks, incorrect amounts, etc.,

2.    Consistently poor attendance,

3.    Insufficient effort, or poor attitude,

4.    Miscellaneous actions by a student, or a student’s family that are determined to be detrimental to the private lesson program.
